I am located in the St. Paul, MN area, and I graduated from University of Minnesota, College of Liberal Arts earning my B.A. in Spanish Studies with a Minor in Portuguese Studies. My A.A. was earned at Century College with concentrations in Liberal Arts and Science. My previous experiences include volunteering at Jane Addams School for Democracy as a Learning Circle Participant; there, I worked alongside other volunteers to help immigrant families with language, culture, gender, and age barriers. I have also been employed as a Spanish Instructor at Futura Language Professionals, and a tutor and mentor at McNamara Academic Center, University of Minnesota. I have also been a Spanish Tutor at Century College. While employed there, I had the responsibility of initiating group conversation, tutoring in one on one sessions, providing assistance with review of class material in preparation for tests, and engaging in foreign language conversation. My previous coursework also includes English, Biology, Physics, Mathematics, History, and Anthropology. I believe in approaching each student in an individual manner, focusing on the student's strengths in learning and promoting growth and higher comprehension from that foundation. I like to use an interactive approach to learning, using discussions and other aids as they fit into the learning process. My spare time is spent reading Spanish Literature, and Fiction. I also keep active by running, ice-skating, or bowling.
